Virtual Training: Counter-Protester De-Escalators for the Next Protest

May 12, 2025

2 pm to 3 pm EST

To support all those on the front lines at protests — we’re bringing back our Conflict De-escalation in Protest Spaces training — for free. The 60-minute interactive training teaches participants how to de-escalate hate and harassment at protest sites so that it doesn’t turn into violence. Conflict de-escalation requires patience, a willingness to listen, and an ability to see the humanity in everyone, even those we don’t agree with or who seek to hurt us. Using Right To Be’s Observe-Breathe-Connect methodology, this training can teach you how to identify potential conflict before it escalates using our “pyramid of escalation” and how to assess whether intervening is the right action.

CD 40 - KIM - Save Our Hospitals : Hands Off Medicaid

When: Tuesday, May 13, 2025

Time: 11:30 am to 1 pm

Location: Chapman Global Medical Center, 2601 E Chapman Ave, Orange, CA 92869

The Republican led Congress is proposing to make devastating cuts to healthcare programs which could impact 15 million Californians, including children and people with disabilities! And they're making the cuts to give huge tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires.

Many hospitals around the state could lose major funding. Providence Mission Hospital could lose tens of millions of dollars of funding. The proposed cuts would mean devastating cutbacks in services and longer wait times - even for people who have private insurance.

To stop the cuts and save lives we need to get a handful of Republican Congressmembers to vote NO on the proposed healthcare cuts. We'll be rallying to save Providence Mission Hospital on Tuesday, May 13th at noon with doctors, nurses, other healthcare providers and community supporters to call on Congresswoman Young Kim to vote NO on any cuts to Medicaid!
